Rock photographer Mark “Weissguy” Weiss

(FRIDAY 5/6/11) Rock music photographer Mark Weiss has been shooting Ozzy Osbourne for the last 30 years. What began in 1981 as an assignment for Circus Magazine--to shoot a small B&W as part of a Rock ‘n’ Roll Yearbook theme--ended with the infamous photo of Ozzy on the cover, resplendent in a pink tutu and cowboy boots. So began the decades long camaraderie between the two, resulting in the provocative, amusing iconic images of a legend. Weiss is now on a mission to raise money and awareness for the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai and the Women and Cancer Fund.

(FRIDAY 4/29/11) Many North Carolinians remember Charlie Brown from his early days in radio at WKIX Channel 85 in Raleigh. Later in his career, Charlie worked with Atlantic records to produce the first two Beach Music albums, Beach Beat Volumes 1 and 2. These days, he is the midday host at 920-AM WPCM, playing the best mixture of beach and oldies music in North Carolina. Charlie also was the first disc jockey inducted into the Carolina Beach Music Hall of Fame and serves on the Cammy Advisory Board.
